Terms of Service

By using zkbounty you agree to these terms. Please read them - they cover how bounties, proofs, and escrow work, and the limits of our responsibility.

1. Acceptance

By accessing zkbounty, connecting a wallet, posting a bounty, or submitting a proof, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

2. Eligibility

You must be of legal age in your jurisdiction and not barred from using blockchain services under applicable law. You are responsible for compliance with the laws that apply to you.

3. Non-custodial service

zkbounty is non-custodial. We never take possession of your funds or private keys. Bounty rewards are held in on-chain escrow and released by an immutable verifier program - not by us. You are solely responsible for the security of your wallet.

4. Bounties & escrow

  • Issuers fund bounty escrow when they post a bounty. Rewards release automatically when a submitted proof satisfies the on-chain criteria.
  • Verification is deterministic and final. A proof either matches the criteria or it does not; there is no human appeal process.
  • Hunters are responsible for capturing genuine, lawful proofs and for their conduct in the real world while doing so.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Submit fraudulent, staged, or unlawfully obtained evidence.
  • Attempt to manipulate, attack, or reverse the verifier program.
  • Use the service to facilitate illegal activity or endanger others.
  • Infringe the rights, safety, or privacy of any person.

6. No warranties

The service is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind. Blockchain networks, smart contracts, and cryptographic systems carry inherent risk. We do not warrant uninterrupted or error-free operation.

7. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, zkbounty and its contributors are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for any loss of funds, data, or opportunity arising from your use of the service or the underlying networks.

8. Intellectual property

The zkbounty name, brand, and interface are owned by their respective holders. The SDK is provided under its published open-source license.

9. Changes

We may update these Terms as the protocol evolves. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
